8 Week Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing

The 8 week course teaches mindfulness skills in a weekly 90 minute to 2 hour class.   This is the core of mindfulness where you will learn to recognise and train your attention away from stress inducing thought patterns to improve your health and wellbeing. The sessions consist of teaching content and practical exercises within a group (maximum 10 people per class). To gain the most benefit from the course you will be asked to commit to 45 minutes of home practise each day between classes, however shorter options are provided if this is more realistic for you.  You will gain knowledge and a sense of calm throughout the course even if you are unable to do the home practice however this will be difficult to sustain without ongoing practise.  If you are able to commit to the home practice, you will feel a noticeable difference in your wellbeing by the end of the course and you will have developed a healthy habit to maintain this sense of wellbeing into the future.

A certificate of attendance will be given at the end when all sessions are completed.  A certificate will only be given if 7 of the 8 sessions are attended and weeks 4,5, and 6 must be attended to receive a certificate. If any sessions are missed they can be made up by arriving early for the following session to cover missed content however this does not qualify for the requirements to receive a certificate. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits are provided.

It is highly recommended that you attend a Mindful Hour Class prior to beginning the course.  The first Mindful Hour Class is free to attend.
